And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to celebrating hubby getting his Master’s with family at one of our favorite restaurants, tomorrow my plans include going shopping for clothes for our vacation, which we leave for on Tuesday  and Sunday, I want to finish reading New Moon and start Eclipse!

3. What I am currently reading: New Moon by Stephanie Meyer, 2nd in the Twilight series….I just now got around to reading these, and they are really good!

4. Newest music I added to my playlist:  Kate Rusby, The Girl Who Couldn’t Fly, I spend way too much downloading from ITunes!!!

5. Movies I saw: I haven’t been to the theater in awhile, but I just watched National Treasure: Book of Secrets, which I enjoyed very much! I haven’t watched a lot of movies this summer, been to busy!

6. Something yummy I made this month: This salad I made for myself when I was home alone…mixed greens, baby spinach, red & yellow peppers, sugar snap peas, cucumber, feta cheese, sea salt and pepper croutons with Paul Newman’s Oil & Vinegar dressing…it was yummy!!

7. The last place I ate out: Logan’s Roadhouse

8. Something that made me : My arm, I hurt it somehow, don’t have a clue how, but it hurts so bad it has brought me to my knees at times. Went to the doctor and he took some x-rays so I’m waiting to hear what he says. Thank heaven for drugs, legal ones of course! Not a good time for this…we leave for vacation on Tuesday!!!

9. Something that made me laugh: Ok, this sounds bad….but today there was a rat in the pool (UGH!!) but watching him swim with only his pointy nose out of the water was quite comical. I wasn’t touching him, not even with the pole, so he was on his own till Brandon got home. Brandon rescued him and sent him on his merry way in the field next door…so in other words, he’ll be back.

10. Something I looked forward to this month: Was our 4th of July party! We had a blast!

11. Something I am thankful for: That my step-dad is doing so great!!

12. Something I want to remember about this month: All the fun we have had as a family doing things together.

This week my musings will be in photos….

We were in East Texas this Saturday visiting family, took the opportunity to take some photos of my son and his fiancé.

In need of repair….I liked the sad look of this fence.

These gorgeous pears were hanging in my grandparents yard….they had a tree load! I kept thinking of all the things you could make with pears….pear jam, pear wine (don’t know how, but sounds good ), fried pears (grandpa told about those! ),  pear breads, salads with pears…goodness the list goes on and on!

And of course, I had to capture a flower….it just happened to be a yellow rose bud!

1. If I could travel back in time, I’d go to Scotland during the time when there were lairds and ladies, and Highlanders defended the land. (Mind you I just want to visit! )

2. Give me days that aren’t over 100° or just give me a break from the heat!

3. I am listening to the Celtic Mix playlist on my Ipod.

4. Somewhere, someone is thinking about the one they love.

5. I’ll always be me. Take me as I am, no putting on a front, no shows, I’m just me.

6. My idea of a good time includes hanging out in the pool, getting a serious water volleyball game going, ice cold drinks, family and music….yep, that’s a good time!

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to going out with my honey, tomorrow my plans include going to see the in-laws and Sunday, I want to chill at the casa!

1. It’s random again, because…well, because.
2. D has finished his Master’s! Graduation is a week from Friday! I’m so very proud of him! It hasn’t been easy, he is a husband, a father, a provider and got his Master’s with a 4.0…now that’s my hero!
3. It’s been so freakin’ hot here, so far over 100° every day!! The heat index, 105° let me tell you people, that is hot! Even our pool temp is in the 90’s!
4. I had a doctor’s appointment this week. One of those well woman check ups… I look forward to those like the plaque. I ended up getting a tetanus shot since it’s been ten years since my last, my arm is so dang sore!
5. Now I have date with the dermatologist for a biopsy for a spot found on my breast…of course, the soonest they could get me in was the first week in September. Nice to keep me waiting.
6. I’ve been using the website GoodReads lately (Thanks Stacy!) and love it! It’s a wonderful way to keep track of your library and find new books to read! If you use GoodReads, add me as a friend, if you don’t, sign up and then add me!
7. D and I are planning a “mini” vacation after his graduation. We can’t do what we really wanted because he has business trips scheduled before and after the time we can go. We can’t decide where to go though since we will only have six days, leaving on a Tuesday and being back on Sunday. Any suggestions?
8. Are you into Giveaways? Pensieve has been doing giveaways all week, head over there when you are done here of course and get in on the action!
9. I need a housekeeper….( I know random, but that’s the name of the list! ) So not in the mood to clean house!
10. I cannot believe that July is almost over! Is it me or is time just flying by?
11. I did something I haven’t done in ages, worked on a jigsaw puzzle! As a kid my grandmother and I use to do them all the time! I missed that, so I started one today!
12. We finally got some rain!!! Though being under thunderstorm warnings aren’t cool.
